About Our Coppell Dental Staff

Our exceptional, friendly staff is our greatest asset. They are excited about what they are doing, have high standards
of quality and integrity, and are motivated to achieve the best resultsfor our family of patients. Our dental assistant and hygienist are licensed professionals with many hours of training. The entire staff has graduated from Dr. Michael Schuster’s Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale, Arizona. Aside from 3 trips to Arizona, the staff regularly attends
continuing education together. Our most recent course was with Dr. Larry Rosenthal, world renowned cosmetic dentist to the stars. We’ve also taken many courses at Baylor College of Dentistry’s Center for Professional Development and always attend the annual Southwest Dental Conference. We pride ourselves on staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and patient communication. Feedback from our patients about an experience in our office is always welcomed. Call or e-mail us anytime.

Employee Biographies

Melanie, Dental Hygienist

Melanie has been licensed to practice dental hygiene since 1976. She attended Louisiana State University (LS Who?) in Baton Rouge for three years and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Texas Women’s University. Melanie is very familiar with the dental field. Her father was a dentist and her brother is a dentist. She has worked for Dr. Mathis since 1992. Melanie has two children, Daniel and Kristen (see photo above left). Aside from family activities, Melanie enjoys the outdoors, shopping, and watching Days of Our Lives (which is why Dr. Mathis’ office is closed for lunch from 1-2).

Chanda, Registered Dental Assistant

Chanda has been in the dental field since 1998. She joined Dr. Mathis’ team in 2002 after being in the Dallas area only 4 days–we grabbed her up quick. Chanda moved here from Groves, Texas, and lives in Lewisville with her husband, 2 year old daughter, and two dogs. She has an excellent chairside manner and is very caring. Our patients are very comfortable with her and confident in her abilities as an assistant.

Jeanie, Business Assistant

Jeanie joined Dr. Mathis’ team January of 2005. Her experience in dentistry spans from 1980! She relocated to this area from Houston, originally from Oologah, Oklahoma–the birthplace of Will Rogers–and has called Texas her home for over 30 years. Her daughter’s name is Kellie and Jeanie has two grandchildren, MacKenzie and Ryan. Jeanie loves movies, music, and eating out. Most importantly her life revolves around her two little companions, Zoii and Scooter (Chihuahuas).
